How do Origin Pro Sealants perform?

Origin Pro Sealants are built to meet or exceed the demands of professional installers – combining high adhesion, flexibility, movement capability, and fast cure times. All products are independently tested and manufactured to align with key industry standards, including;

  • ASTM C-920 performance classifications
  • Class 50 movement capability (HP1, HP2)
  • Tack-free and full cure times suited to jobsite speed
  • Low odor, neutral-cure or moisture-cure chemistries depending on use

What are the best applications for each Origin Pro product?

HP1 – Neutral Cure 100% Silicone (Alkoxy), 2.8 oz

Best for:

  • Kitchens, baths, showers, tubs, sinks, tile, vanities
  • Backsplashes, laundry rooms, utility rooms
  • Punch-list interior work, plumbing, HVAC
    (Engineered primarily for interior environments.)

Suitable surfaces:

  • Ideal: Non-porous substrates (glass, metals, PVC, fiberglass, glazed tile)
  • Also suitable:
  • Many porous substrates when properly primed or prepared
  • Exterior small joints on non-porous components (vinyl, aluminum, fiberglass)

HP2 – Neutral Cure 100% Silicone (Alkoxy), 10.1 oz

Best for:

  • Larger interior kitchen & bath applications
  • Commercial interior installations
  • Fixtures, tile, plumbing, tubs, showers
    (Engineered primarily for interior environments.)

Suitable surfaces:

  • Ideal: Interior non-porous substrates
  • Also suitable:
  • Many porous substrates when properly primed or prepared
  • Exterior small joints on non-porous surfaces (PVC, ABS, coated metals)

HP3 – 100% Silicone (Acetoxy Cure) — Glazing Grade

Best for:

  • Window glazing (glass-to-glass, glass-to-aluminum)
  • Curtainwall glazing
  • Storefront glazing systems
  • Exterior perimeter joints on non-porous windows and doors
  • Vinyl, PVC, fiberglass, aluminum, coated metals

Suitable surfaces:

  • Non-porous substrates only

Not recommended for:

  • Porous substrates (brick, block, stone, concrete, mortar, cement board)
  • Acid-sensitive metals (copper, galvanized steel, zinc)
  • Paintable applications

HP4 – Hybrid Polymer (SMP/MS Polymer)

Best for:

  • Exterior siding, windows, and doors
  • Trim, fascia, corner boards, soffits
  • Roofing, flashing, gutters
  • High-movement exterior joints
  • Color-matched exterior installations

Suitable surfaces:

  • Porous and non-porous substrates
  • Fiber cement, engineered wood, masonry, wood, composites, PVC, vinyl, metals

Additional features:

  • Paintable in 1 hour (test first)
  • Can be applied to damp or slightly wet surfaces (remove standing water)

Do Legacy Pro Sealants meet ASTM standards?

Yes. HP1 through HP4 are manufactured to meet or exceed ASTM C-920 standards. Product-specific classifications are detailed in each products Technical Data Sheets (TDS).

HP1/HP2/HP3: ASTM C-920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 50

HP4: ASTM C-920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 50; tested per AAMA 800 Sec. 4 & 5 and ASTM C-1382 (EIFS) complies with AAMA 713-24.

What is the HP4 V-notch nozzle?

Each HP4 cartridge includes a precision-engineered V-notch nozzle that ensures smooth, consistent bead delivery – ideal for multi-crew applications or detailed joint work.

Do you offer color matches for siding and window applications?

Yes. Our HP4 Hybrid Polymer Sealant draws from a color library of more than 200 established standards – covering over 5,000 pre-matched options that coordinate with leading siding, window and trim brands.

  • Soft Launch (2025): Core 4 (White, Black, Brown and Gray) plus Clear
  • 2026 Expansion: Additional colors will be introduced based on contractor and field demand.
  • Custom color development is available for qualified contractor accounts.

Can I use HP4 as a gutter sealant?

Yes. While not listed on the cartridge label, HP4 performs exceptionally well for gutter sealing applications.
